The Duchess of Sussex made a surprise appearance at the Parisian fashion event this past weekend to cheer on a fashion designer friend.

Meghan attended the Balenciaga show after making a solo trip across the Atlantic.

She has worn a number of designs by the brand's new creative director Pierpaolo Piccioli and the attendance signaled "her support for his new creative chapter," a spokesman for the duchess said.

It was her first time at the fashion spectacle for over ten years.

"Over the years, the duchess has sported various outfits by Pierpaolo," the representative commented.

"They have collaborated extensively on designing for important events on the world stage."

"She has long admired his craftsmanship and modern elegance, and tonight was the same."

"This evening reflects the peak of many years of artistry and companionship, reflected in her endorsement for his latest creative endeavor at the fashion house."

Meghan, who announced her arrival in Paris with an Instagram story, wore a light-colored ensemble of flowing pants and a jacket from the line for the event on the weekend.

The duchess is last known to have visited the UK in late 2022 to participate in a charity event and was in the country when Queen Elizabeth II died. She and Prince Harry then stayed on for the memorial service.

Her husband met his father the King last month amid speculation about a mending of ties.

He has made several trips to the United Kingdom in recent years for a variety of engagements including for charity events and to attend legal proceedings.

This week, Prince Harry joined remotely for a High Court hearing in a lawsuit against the Daily Mail's publisher.
