The Prince of Wales Outlines Plan of Beneficial Evolution When He Assumes the Monarchy

The future king has stated that "change is on my agenda – positive change."

During a remarkably candid conversation, William set out his vision for the crown.

"I want to question things more," he remarked to the celebrated actor at Windsor Castle.

The prince commented: "My goal is to build a society where my children can take pride in our actions, a kingdom and a duty that positively influences society."

Personal Reflections on Press Intrusion

Prince George, his firstborn, who celebrated his 12th birthday in July, will one day succeed him as king.

Prince Louis, aged seven and his daughter, Princess Charlotte, is 10.

The prince disclosed his offspring are without smartphones. It was implied his desire to protect them from similar situations both he and his sibling encountered in their youth – a possible reference to intrusive press scrutiny that also plagued their mother.

"They wanted every bit of detail they could absorb, they infiltrated every aspect of life," the prince described the voracious media he experienced growing up.

"Allowing that intrusion, the destructive impact on family relationships is something that I vowed would never happen to my family," he stated.

Balancing Innovation with Heritage

Regarding his change agenda, William said: "I embrace that and I enjoy that change – it doesn't frighten me. That's the bit that excites me, the possibility of implementing reforms."

William specified: "Not overly radical change, but changes that I think that need to happen."

The prince continued: "I think it's very important that tradition stays, heritage plays a significant role. But, there's also points where you look at tradition and question: 'Does this remain relevant?"

"Should we continue this practice? Could we achieve greater influence?'"

Outlook on Coming Royal Duties

After the inquiry about considering the throne, William replied: "It's not something I wake up in the morning and think about, since authenticity and selfhood guides my conduct."

"Thereafter, one can apply different designations and duties which accompany that status, unless I remain authentic, and committed to my values – then personal significance diminishes," William stressed.

"My positions and obligations receive earnest attention however, as stated before, avoid being dominated by them – instead master them," William finished.
