For those wanting a slasher-horror film that provides mindless entertainment while eliciting cringes, odds are Bone Lake has caught your attention. The latest scary film from filmmaker Mercedes Bryce Morgan hit movie houses on October 3rd with an absurd premise and a evocative label to match.

A Combination of Comedy and Darkness

With a name like Bone Lake and an initial moments featuring people running stark naked through the wilderness—only to be shot with a bow in sensitive areas—one can guess there's ample comic relief throughout the story. A Sinister Turn

What initially appears to be a contrast of contrasts between the duos—Sage and Diego are clumsy and everyday people, whereas Cin and Will have a affluent, opulent way of life and are seen being intimate on any handy location—takes a dark turn as the getaway unfolds. Cin and Will play on Diego and Sage's doubts in their union. They circulate falsehoods and talk about the protagonists, alleging to have information on an affair and additional personal issues.

The anxieties erupt in the biggest way imaginable when Diego and Sage discover that Will and Cin are not simply here at Bone Lake by chance: they own it and have been attracting duos to the estate in order to get them to cheat on their loved ones. The film concludes with Diego and Sage joining forces to get away from Will and Cin's killer motives. Interestingly is that while, at the start of the feature, you sense a vast divide in the bond between Diego and Sage in comparison to Cin and Will, by the finale, Bone Lake reverses it on its head. Will and Cin separate to pursue Sage and Diego, but Diego and Sage are interacting improved at this stage. They team up to kill Will with a power tool. They next confront the character Cin, who meets her grisly end at the bottom of Bone Lake's lake—but not before Diego reclaims the wedding ring destined for the character Sage that Will had stolen and given to the character Cin.

Consequences

Following the events of their two killings, smeared with gore and flesh, Sage and Diego sit together on the end of a craft. Ironically, this is the closest they've felt since the outset of the movie, since all their relationship troubles have been revealed for both of them to witness, and all they have remaining are their battered and bruised bodies. As if to affirm their new closeness and profound insight of one another, the character Diego reaches over to slip the wedding ring on Sage's finger and, when she turns to inspect it in the sunlight, the pair start chuckling.

One can easily to understand the reason: Earlier, Will offered engagement to the character Cin, it was a picturesque, romantic moment. Whereas Diego does the same for the character Sage, they've recently escaped from a brutal nightmare. Nonetheless, the character Diego's engagement question to Sage is not based on deceit, just the awareness that they've survived the worst ordeal of their lives and, after all that, they even now wish to spend the rest of their life as one.
